COLUMBIA, SC—South Carolina State volleyball team posted its second straight win in a row after knocking off intrastate rival Allen, 3-1, Wednesday (Oct. 9) inside Adams Gymnasium.
The Lady Bulldogs improve to 3-12 overall, 1-3 in the MEAC, while Allen falls to 3-8 overall, 2-5 in SIAC play.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Leading the way for SCSU in kills was Kiyah Felder with 21 and Hailey Harris with 11.
- Trinity Stevenson had three (3) aces along with Jara Davis added two (2).
- McKinley Roach was the leader in blocks with five (5) along with Felder's four (4).
- Kaia Barnett continues to dominate in assist with a game-high 30.
- Miya Benson played lights out to secure the win with a game-high 20 digs, while teammate Felder and Davis contributed 12 each respectively.
NEXT UP: South Carolina State returns on the road for a five-match stretch, beginning with UMES on Friday (Oct. 11) at 6 p.m., followed by Delaware State on Sunday (Oct. 13) at 1 p.m.
