ORANGEBURG, SC – Two members of the South Carolina State University athletics staff have received promotions, acting Director of Athletics Keshia Campbell announced Friday (Nov.4th).
Carla Mitchell, the current Director of Athletic Ticket Operations, has been promoted to Assistant Director of Athletics for Ticket Operations and Vending, while Sidney Fulton IV, the current Executive Director of Business Affairs and Equipment Manager, has been named Assistant Director of Athletics for Business Affairs and Equipment Operations. Both will assume their new roles immediately.
"I am happy to announce the promotion of two of our longtime employees," Campbell said. "Both have served the university well and will continue to press towards improving our department in ways that are beneficial to our staff, students, and other stakeholders. I am confident that they are equipped and prepared to continue to lead in their respective areas."
Mitchell, an Orangeburg native and SC State alumna, has been employed at the university for twenty-two (22) years, the last eighteen (18) as Director of Athletic Ticket Operation, where she was responsible for managing and supervising all ticket sales and operations. In her new role, she will have the added duty of overseeing game-day vending and will serve as the department's administrator for cross country and track and field.
Mitchell earned a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice at SC State and is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration at the university.
Fulton is in his seventeenth (17) season as a member of the Bulldog athletic equipment staff and has served as the head Equipment Manager for fifteen (15) years. He has also been managing the department's daily business operations for well over a year. The Orangeburg native and SC State graduate serves as the department's administrator for tennis and volleyball.
Fulton earned a bachelor's degree in business management from SC State in 2004.
