ORANGEBURG, SC- The South Carolina State University volleyball team returned for the 2019 season on Aug. 8^th and held their first practice on August 10^th under third-year head coach Monique Walker-Lee to prepare for the 2019 season.

South Carolina State welcomes back nine (9) members from last year's squad in seniors Desiree Walker, Taylor Smart, Jessica Beanard, juniors Alexus Holt, Erin Hundley and Morgan Brigham, sophomores Jenai King (who sat out last season), T'Meyah Burgess and Asha Robinson

JUCO transfer Aundrea Boyland out of Seward County Community College and freshman Daivez Bell are set to join the team this upcoming season.

The Lady Bulldogs will conduct most of their preseason practices at 12 noon afternoon sessions and 5 p.m. evening practices at Duke Gymnasiums, from Aug. 10^th-19^th, Times, dates and locations are subject to change.

During the regular season practice times may vary or change.

South Carolina State opens the 2019 season on the road in Montgomery, Alabama in the MEAC/SWAC Challenge, beginning with Alabama State on Friday Aug. 30^th at 12:30 p.m. and Alabama A&M at 7 p.m. SC State wraps up the tourney versus Jackson State on Saturday, Aug.31^st, TBA.
