GREENSBORO, NC—The South Carolina State women's basketball team hit the road for a two-game road swing beginning with league rival N.C. A&T State Saturday (Feb. 23
rd) at Corbett Arena in Greensboro, NC. Tip-off is 2 p.m.
The last time the two teams met the Lady Aggies knocked South Carolina State, 44-58, in Orangeburg, SC on Jan. 5
th at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center. Senior guard
Rhein Beamon led the way with a team-high 13 points.
Junior forward
Taylor Brown 14 points and 8.8 rebounds per contest, while Beamon is second in scoring with 10.9 points and 4.5 rebounds for South Carolina State (13-13 overall, 6-6 MEAC).
Meanwhile, top-ranked N.C. A&T State (15-12 overall, 12-0 MEAC) looks to extend their winning streak with a win over the Lady Bulldogs. Rayven Peeples led the Lady Aggies with 10 points in the win.
C'Coriea Foy is the leader for the Lady Aggies with 13.0 points and 4.9 rebounds, while teammate Cinia McCray adds 12.5 ppg and 5.5 rebounds. Alexus Lessears and Peeples each average over 6.3 rebounds.
Next up South Carolina State takes on NC Central on Monday (Feb. 24
th) in Durham, NC in an MEAC showdown. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m.
