Box Score STATESBORO, GA—The South Carolina State women's soccer team dropped their fourth straight contest in a 4-1 loss to Georgia Southern Wednesday (Oct. 11) at Eagle Field-Erk Park.
South Carolina State falls to 1-10 on the season, while Georgia Southern improves to 6-6-1 overall on the year.
GSU jumped out on early goal by Junique Rodriguez at the 27:43 mark in the first-half. SC State got on the board with their only goal of the night with a score by Valery Fernandez to tie the game 1-1 at the 31:39 mark.
Georgia Southern rattled off three unanswered scores with goals by Maddie Klintworth (34:55), Frida Brattum (51:28) and Asha Vilaythong (73:13) to run away with a 4-1 victory over the visiting Lady Bulldogs.
South Carolina State returns to action on Friday (Oct. 13
th) at home against Delaware State in a 7 p.m. start at Oliver. C. Dawson Stadium/Willie Jeffries Field.
