Box Score BALTIMORE, MD---Four players scored in double figures, but it wasn't enough as South Carolina State suffered an, 70-54, loss to Coppin State Wednesday (Jan. 4) at the Physical Education Complex.
Graduate guard
Bryeasha Blair led the Lady Bulldogs (3-9 overall, 0-1 MEAC) with a team-high 16 points, while junior forward
Brittany Drumgoole added 15 and eight rebounds in the loss.
Sophomore forward
JaQuanna Murray recorded the games only double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds and three blocks. Junior forward
Jahmia Bradley fell one rebound shy of a double-double with nine rebounds ,10 points and four steals.
Turnovers seemed to be the deciding factor down the stretch with Coppin State (1-12 overall, 1-0 MEAC) forcing SC State to a game-high 21 turnovers.
Despite the loss, the Lady Bulldogs out-rebounded Coppin State 43-41.
South Carolina State returns to action on Saturday (Jan. 7) against Hampton at the HU Convocation Center in a pivotal Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) showdown. Tipoff is 4 p.m.
