CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The University of North Carolina women's basketball team defeated South Carolina State 82-49 on Friday afternoon at Carmichael Arena.

 Bryeasha Blair led SC State (3-8) with 22 points and added eight rebounds and three steals in 32 minutes. Chantel Williams finished with 10 points, five rebounds and four assists. Schekinah Bimpa grabbed a game-high nine boards.

Stephanie Watts paced UNC (11-2) with 22 points and eight rebounds.

The Lady Bulldogs open Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play on Jan. 4 in a 5:30 p.m. game against Coppin State in Baltimore, Md.
