Inside the Game: The South Carolina State women's basketball team concludes regular-season play tonight in a 5:30 p.m. matchup at Bethune-Cookman. The Lady Bulldogs (15-11, 8-7 MEAC) are coming off a tough 55-52 loss to Savannah State last Saturday. The Lady Wildcats (12-15, 9-6 MEAC) also dropped their last game, falling 58-55 at North Carolina A&T on Monday.
Kourtney Williams and
Amber Howard head SC State offensively, scoring 17.0 and 10.4 points per game, respectively.
Jasmine Coleman leads the Lady Bulldogs on the glass, grabbing a team-best 6.8 per contest, while also blocking a team-best 43 shots on the season.
Kendra Cooper leads Bethune-Cookman in scoring with 14.3 points per game. Kailyn Williams is the team's defensive leader, averaging 8.9 rebounds per game and a MEAC-leading 4.4 blocks per game.

Jazzmine Johnson had 18 points to lead three South Carolina State players in double figures as the Lady Bulldogs defeated Bethune-Cookman 68-61 in a come-from-behind win in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference contest at the Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
Kourtney Williams added 14 points, including 12 in the second half,
Amber Howard had 12 and
Ashleigh Outler poured in nine -- on three 3-pointers -- in the victory. The Lady Bulldogs improved to 5-2 on the season and 1-1 in the league.
Bethune-Cookman got a game-high 25 points from Kendra Cooper, who made 8-17 shots from the field, including a 7-16 performance from 3-point range. Kayla Crawford added 14 points and Kailyn Williams 12 and a game-high 10 rebounds in the loss, which dropped the visitors to 3-6 on the season and 1-1 in MEAC play.
MEAC Tournament: The MEAC Tournament tips off March 9 at 11 a.m. at the Norfolk Scope Arena in Virginia. All men's and women's preliminary-round games will be telecast live on ESPN3.com. The Championship games will telecast live beginning with the men's game, Saturday, March 14 at 1 p.m. on ESPN2. The women's game will begin thirty-minutes following the men's game and will air live on ESPN3 and telecast taped-delayed on Sunday, March 15 at 11:30 a.m. on ESPNU.
