SC State Women’s Basketball Opens MEAC Play at FAMU, Bethune-Cookman

ORANGEBURG, S.C. – The South Carolina State women's basketball team opens its 2015-16 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference schedule with matchups at Florida A&M at 4 p.m. on Saturday and Bethune-Cookman at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.  
 
SC State is 2-3 on the season after coming off a 63-54 loss at Clemson on Wednesday. FAMU is 3-5 and fell 61-57 to Southeast Louisiana on Wednesday. Bethune-Cookman has been off since Nov. 28, when the Lady Wildcats fell 75-59 to Western Illinois at the University of North Florida Thanksgiving Classic to drop to 3-4 on the season.
 
Sophomore Brittany Drumgoole leads the Lady Bulldogs in scoring with 10.4 points per game. Defensively, senior forward Jasmine Coleman is averaging 5.8 rebounds per game and has a team-high five blocks on the season.
