ORANGEBURG, S.C. – One hundred and six (106) South Carolina State student-athletes were named to the 2015 Athletics Director Honor Roll , which highlights academic achievement in the class room as well as performance.
The new initiative created by Director of Athletics Paul A. Bryant honors student-athletes, including freshman to seniors, with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better each semester.
"This is an opportunity to recognize the student athletes for their outstanding achievements in the classroom," said Bryant. "So much attention is on their athletic performance but it is the academic efforts that drive their success. Therefore, this honor was essential for this department."
