SC State Hosts Norfolk State in MEAC Women’s Basketball Matchup

Cabriel Duren is averaging 10 points per outing

Orangeburg, S.C.—The SC State women's basketball team will host Norfolk State tomorrow, Saturday, Jan. 25, in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) women's basketball matchup. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. at the Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center on the campus of SC State.

SC State brings a 5-10 overall record and 3-2 MEAC conference bill into tomorrow's contest. The Lady Bulldogs, who dropped their last game (Monday, Jan. 20) to Bethune-Cookman 71-53, is led in scoring by junior Kourtney Williams who is averaging 18.3 points per outing. Graduate Cabriel Duren is also averaging in double-figures at 10 points per game. Junior Persephone Goodwin leads the team in rebounding at 5.8 per contest.

Norfolk State brings an 8-9 overall record and 4-2 MEAC record into tomorrow's contest. The Spartans are led by Rae Corbo and Rachel Gordon who is averaging 13.7 and 12.1, respectively. Gordon is averaging a double-double as she is grabbing a team-high 12.7 rebounds per outing.

The Lady Bulldogs will close out their four-game home-stand on Monday, Jan. 27 when they host Hampton University in a 6 p.m. MEAC matchup.
