SC State Drops 2-1 Decision to NJIT in Women’s Soccer

Newark, N.J. (October 13, 2013) — The SC State women's soccer team dropped a 3-1 decision to New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) in its first for three straight road games. With the loss, the Lady Bulldogs fell to 6-7-1 on the season. NJIT improved to 5-9 overall.

SC State only goal of the match came at the 53:37 mark as sophomore Rhea Anne Currie scored off an assist from senior Kaitlynn Cortez. NJIT scored two goals in the first and one late in the second en route to capturing the 3-1 victory.

The Lady Bulldogs will travel to Dover, Del., tomorrow, Oct. 15 to take on the Lady Hornets of Delaware State. SC State will close out its three-match road swing on Thursday, Oct. 17 when they travel to Washington, DC to face the Lady Bison of Howard University.

The Lady Bulldogs will return to Oliver C. Dawson Stadium this Saturday, Oct. 19 when they host NJIT. First kick is set for 1 p.m. with senior day presentations getting underway at approximately 12:45 p.m.
