Orangeburg, S.C.—The SC State women's soccer team will hit the road tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, when they travel to Statesboro, Ga. to take on the Eagles of Georgia Southern University.
The Lady Bulldogs will enter the contest with a 3-3-0 overall record after defeating Alabama State, 4-0, in their last outing. The Freshman combination of
Brooke Contreras and
Rhea-Anne Currie along with junior
Kaitlynn Cortez is leading the way for SC State. Contreras has three goals for six points while Currie and Cortez each has two goals with one assist for five points.
Georgia Southern enters the game with a 3-0-2 overall record. In their last outing, the Eagles came away with a 0-0 tie with Jacksonville. Nora El-Shami and Sydnie Van Curen each has two goals for four points while Courtney Collins has one goal with two assists for four points to lead the way for Georgia Southern.
SC State will remain on the road this weekend with they travel to Jacksonville, Ala. to participate in the Jacksonville State tournament. The Lady Bulldogs will return home next Wednesday, Sept. 12 when they host USC-Aiken at 7 p.m.
