Orangeburg, S.C.—The SC State women's soccer team could not get any offense going as they dropped their 2011 season home-opener to Georgia Southern, 3-0, last Friday (Sept. 2). The Lady Bulldogs returned to Bulldog Stadium after opening its 2011 campaign with three straight road games.

SC State (1-2-1) had six opportunities at the goal but could not capitalize on any of its efforts. Courtney Collins scored two of Georgia Southern (1-2-1) three goals, one in the first half and one in the second. Both of Collins goals were assisted by Sara Oland. Alex Murphy scored the Eagles third goal unassisted late in the match.

The Lady Bulldogs will have seven days to regroup before traveling to Buies Creek, N.C. to take on the Camels of Campbell University, Friday, Sept. 9. SC State will return home next Wednesday, Sept. 14 when they host The Citadel. First kick is set for 7 p.m. in the Oliver C. Dawson Stadium on the campus of SC State.
