Washington, DC (2-7-11)--SC State women's basketball travel woes continued Monday, as they fell to Howard, 25-59, in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference match-up at Burr Gymnasium on the campus of Howard University. The Lady Bulldogs scored a season low seven first half points as they remained winless on the road in the 2010-11 campaign.
Sophomore
Tiara Knotts (Columbia, SC/A.C. Flora HS) scored 13 of the Lady Bulldogs 25 points and
Fannie Goodwin pulled in five rebounds as SC State fell to 6-14 overall and 2-8 in the MEAC.
Howard was led by Tamoria Holmes with 13 points. Saadia Doyle scored 12 and Cheynne Curley-Payne dropped in a double-double 11 points-12 rebounds as the Lady Bison improved to 10-14 overall and 6-4 in the MEAC.
SC State will try to regroup this weekend as they begin a four-game home-stand beginning Saturday (Feb. 12) when they host Coppin State in a 2 p.m. contest at S-H-M Memorial Center. This will be the annual WBCA Pink Zone game in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness. All fans are asked to wear pink in support of the effort.
