SC State Lady Bulldogs Return to Action at Jacksonville

Hemphill recorded 13 points-15 rebounds in Lady Bulldogs last victory
Orangeburg, S.C.--After a nine day Christmas break, the SC State Lady Bulldogs return to the hardwood when they travel to Jacksonville, Fla. to take on the Dolphins of Jacksonville University, in its final game of the 2011 calendar year. The Lady Bulldogs last played on December 19 when they defeated UNC-Asheville 92-82.

SC State enters the contest with a 5-6 overall record. The Lady Bulldogs are led in scoring and rebounding by Tiara Knotts and Tiana Hemphill who are averaging 12.5 and 7.8, respectively.

Jacksonville comes into the contest with a 1-10 overall record.  Crystal Bell leads the team in scoring averaging 11.5 points per game.  Jade Cargill leads the team in rebounding at 7.1 boards per outing.

The Lady Bulldogs will open the 2012 calendar year with three straight home games beginning next Tuesday, Jan. 3, when they host Southern Wesleyan in its final non-conference game of the season. SC State will then resume Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play on Saturday, Jan. 7 when they host Morgan State followed by Coppin State on Monday, Jan 9.
