Lady Bulldogs Start MEAC Southern Division Roundup With Strong Showing

Hebbe finished the day with a team-high 234
GREENSBORO, NC—The South Carolina State women's bowling team open up conference play with a strong showing Saturday, defeating N.C. Central (760-732) and N.C. A&T (875-732) to post a 2-3 record at the MEAC Southern Division Roundup in Greensboro, NC.
       Coach Lorra Bailey's team suffered only one loss on the day to Florida A&M (875-815) in a tough and tight contest between the two rival schools. The Lady Bulldogs battled the Lady Rattlers to the end only to come up short. Posting high scores in the defeat were Marina Akers (179), Mariah Hebbe (234) and senior captain Stephanie Sinclair (163). Newcomer Celeste Taylor contributed to the fight.
        In Game 3 SC State proved to be too much for the Aggies of N.C. A&T. Senior's Stephanie Sinclair and Sirrena Favors led the way posting their best games of the day. Favors led the way with a 198, followed by Sinclair 194, Hebbe 167 and Taylor with a 146.
        During Head to Head competition the Lady Bulldogs finished in respectable fashion posting a total individual pin fall were Hebbe (967), Sinclair (844), Akers (829), Favors (794), and Taylor (585).
        Mariah Hebbe finished the day with a team-high of 234.
       SC State will start the best of seven Baker matches beginning Sunday.
