SUMTER, SC—The South Carolina Lady Bulldog bowling team placed first in the SC State Dual Invitational this past week Nov 20-21 at Gamecock Lanes in Sumter, SC.
SC State dominated the lanes on Saturday defeating North Carolina Central in a total team score 893-710 in day one of the Invitational.
“I thought we played an awesome game on Saturday, “stated SC State head coach Laura Bailey. “I was proud of the play of junior bowler Brienna Jones for a newcomer she really came on well and played for us.”
Junior Brienna Jones just in her second year of collegiate played bowled a 191, while Sirenna Favors added a 180 to lift the Lady Bulldogs to victory. Senior Stephanie Sinclair shot a 192 and Mariah Hebbe bowled a game-high for the tournament at 203.
Senior Autumn Glencamp who battle back from a back injury when she suffered last season had a game-high of 200 and a tournament average of 180. Marina Akers shot a 189 and combined with Glencamps (200) game-high put the Lady Bulldogs over the top.
With tough lane conditions in lane three, Senior Mariah Hebbe still manage to finish with a 184 average for SC State. The Lady Bulldogs finished 2-2 on the final day of play Sunday and with a game-high of 201.
The Lady Bulldogs will return to action on Dec 4 & 5 when they travel to Norfolk VA to compete in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Southern Divisional # 2.
