SC State Women’s Soccer Close Out Regular Season on the Road

Goalkeeper Danielle Murphy to Face Younger Sister

Orangeburg, S.C.—The SC State women's soccer team will look to remain atop the Great West Conference when they travel to Houston, Texas and Orem, Utah to close out its 2011 regular season.  The Lady Bulldogs will face Houston Baptist on Thursday, Oct. 27 and Utah Valley State on Saturday, Oct. 29 to close out the regular season and Great West Conference Play.

In the match versus Houston Baptist, junior goalkeeper Danielle Murphy will face her younger sister freshman defender Ally Murphy.  A story featuring the Murphy sisters can be read by accessing the following link:

SC State, who began the season with a slow start, have won their last four-of-five contests including three straight conference wins.  The Lady Bulldogs will enter the weekend with a 5-7-3 overall record and 3-0-1 in the Great West Conference. Olivia Moore is currently leading the team with five goals-one assist for 11 points.  Cassie Rodriguez has three goals for six points and Kaitlynn Cortez has two goals-three assists for seven points for SC State.

The Lady Bulldogs will culminate their season at the 2011 Great West Conference Thursday-Sunday, Nov. 3-6 in Newark, N.J. at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT).
