Sr. Wiley led the Lady Bulldogs with 17 points
Winston-Salem, NC (11-18-10)—The SC State women's basketball team fell to ACC opponent Wake Forest, 36-95, in its 2010-11 season-opener. The non-conference matchup was contested at the Joel Coliseum, the site of the 2011 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Basketball Tournament.

SC State (0-1) could not find any rhythm in the game as they shot 22 percent from the floor and 58 percent from the charity stripe. Senior guard Whitney Wiley, a 2010 pre-season All-MEAC selectee, scored 17 points to lead the Lady Bulldogs. Senior forward Joi Walker had a well rounded game dropping in seven points with eight rebounds, while sophomore Tiana Hemphill came off the bench to pull in six rebounds in the contest.

Wake Forest (2-0) had four players to record double-digits led by Lakevia Boykin with 17. Chelsea Douglas recorded 16, Secily Ray 14 and Erin Hall contributed 11 points in the victory. Sandra Garcia dropped in nine points and pulled in a game-high 11 rebounds for the Demon Deacons.
