ORANGEBURG, SC—The Defending MEAC Champion South Carolina State posted their biggest win of the 2026 campaign in a 4-0 shutout win over #73 Youngstown State Friday (March. 6) inside the Hardeep Judge Tennis Center.

Youngstown State entered the contest with a 9-1 record, the loss to the Bulldogs snapped an eight-match winning streak for the Penguins who are now 9-2 on the season.

South Carolina State improves to 2-6 on the season.

SCSU captured the doubles point at the No. 1spot with Mikalai Bankou/Novak Novakovic def. Matteo Ceradelli/Dominik Vonbank with a 6-1 victory, and at No. 2 spot Iliyas Muratuly /Andri Borodatiuk def Rafael Le Fur/Oscar Gippet (6-1).

In singles, the Bulldogs won in straight sets at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 6 to earn the victory.

No.1 Mikalai Bankou def. Matteo Ceradelli (6-3, 6-2) and at the No. 2 spot Novak Novakovic def. Dominik Vonbank (6-2, 6-2), while Cagan Efe Tufekci def.  Mihai Haita (6-2, 6-0) at the No. 6 spot respectfully.

The matches at No. 3, No. 4 and No.5 singles were unfinished in the second sets.

NEXT UP: The Bulldogs return to action on Thursday, March 12, versus George Mason in Hilton Head, SC. First serve is 12 noon.
