SC State Takes On Neighboring Claflin In Volleyball Action

ORANGEBURG, SC—South Carolina State women's volleyball won't have far to travel when they take on neighboring Claflin University in the "Battle of the Bur" Monday (Sept. 15) in a non-conference match-up inside Jonas T. Kennedy Health and Wellness Center (Tullis Arena).

Claflin (0-4) of the CIAA look to capture their first win of the season when they take on the Lady Bulldogs (1-7) of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC). In their last outing CCU dropped an 2-3 decision to Allen on the road Saturday (Sept. 13).

Meanwhile, SC State came up short in the Bash of the Beach suffering to Bethune-Cookman (0-3), Jacksonville (0-3) and Charleston Southern (0-3) in Daytona Beach, Fla., over the weekend. Graduate student Kiya Felder was named to the All-Tournament Team.

NEXT UP: SCSU remains on the road as they travel to Statesboro, Ga., to take on Georgia Southern in an 6:00 p.m. start Thursday (Sept. 18)
ABOUT SC STATE ATHLETICS
South Carolina State University is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I level intercollegiate athletic program. The university currently fields teams in 14 sports: women's volleyball, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's indoor track & field, softball, men's and women's outdoor track and field, women's soccer and football with all teams competing in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), except for women's soccer.
