Drayton Jones has been named HBCU National Player of the Week by BOXTOROW. Jones, a sophomore from Houston, Texas, averaged 19.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, shot 47 percent from the field and 81 percent from three free throw line (22-of-27) in helping lead the Bulldogs to a 2-0 record last week. In the Bulldogs' win over MEAC first place Norfolk State, he scored 20 points, grabbed eight rebounds, had two blocked shots and two steals, and was 14-of-17 (.824) from the free throw line. (He is shooting .672 from the line this season.)
Jones will be highlighted on the nationally syndicated sports talk show BOXTOROW with Donal Ware which airs on radio stations across the country including on ESPN Orangeburg and outside of the U.S. in Bermuda and the Bahamas. A list of radio stations that carry the program can be found here
