GREENVILLE, SC—The South Carolina State softball team started out the season in style with an impressive 8-4 win over Furman in the opening the Paladin Invitational Thursday (Feb.6) at Pepsi Stadium.
The Lady Bulldogs finished with eight (8) runs and seven (7) hits with
Jamaria Charley leading the way with four (4) runs.
Kaylah Leslie added two (2) runs along with two (2) hits and two (2) RBIs in the win.
Taylor Ames-Alexander finished with a productive day with three (3) hits and three (3) RBIs for SCSU.
Alyssa Stanford and
Jayla King each added one run respectively.
Junior
Destiny Calloway was the winning pitcher on the day.
NEXT UP: South Carolina State resumes play Friday (Feb.7) in Greenville versus Tennessee Tech in a 12 noon start.
