COLUMBIA, SC--All MEAC Preseason Player of the Year sophomore guard
Jayden Johnson finished with a team-high 23 points, but it wasn't enough as South Carolina State dropped an 95-70 loss to SEC foe South Carolina Monday (Dec.22) inside the Colonial Life Arena.
Johnson also added 10-of-15 from the field including six (6) assist in 32-minutes play, while teammate
Noah Treadwell chipped in 17 points along with five (5) three-pointers on the day.
James Morrow finished with 13 points and
Florian Tenebay seven (7) in the loss.
Despite the loss, the Bulldogs led in several categories including points off turnovers (16-13), team assist (18-15) and steals (9-7).
NEXT UP: South Carolina State will wrap up non-conference play on Tuesday (Dec. 30) versus University of Tennessee in Knoxville, TN in a 8 p.m. (EST) tipoff.
