ORANGEBURG, SC—Senior forward
Cameron Clark finished with a team-high 16 points along with nine (9) rebounds to lead South Carolina State to an 68-54 win over visiting Brewton-Parker Christian University Friday (Dec.19) afternoon inside Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
Preseason All MEAC Player of the Year sophomore guard
Jayden Johnson added 14 points, while newcomer
Chris Parker chipped in 9 points and 9 rebounds.
South Carolina State snapped a 12-game season losing streak with the win.
The Bulldogs led in several categories including points in the paint (38-26), points off turnovers (16-12), second chance points (18-2), bench points (31-29), and rebounds 35-19.
Both teams finished with a lofty 17 turnovers on the day.
The Barons were led by Jadon Melvin with 19 points and five rebounds.
NEXT UP: South Carolina State will travel to Columbia, SC on Monday (Dec. 22) to take on SEC foe University of South Carolina in a non-conference battle, beginning at 4:00 p.m.
