MEAC to Host 2025 Men’s and Women’s Basketball Media Day Presented by Wells Fargo

NORFOLK, Va. — The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) will host the 2025 Men's and Women's Basketball Media Day, presented by Wells Fargo, on Wednesday, October 8 at Waterside District (333 Waterside Dr.), on the exterior stage along the waterfront, in Norfolk, Virginia.

The annual media day will feature all men's and women's basketball coaches, along with designated student-athletes from each team, in back-to-back live shows on ESPN+. The women's show, hosted by Mitchell Brown, begins at 10:00 a.m., followed by the men's show at 12:00 p.m.

The shows will spotlight each team's upcoming season, key newcomers, and returning standouts. Viewers will also learn the predicted preseason order of finish, all-conference teams, and the preseason player of the year during the live broadcasts.

Last season, Norfolk State's men's and women's basketball programs captured the 2024-25 MEAC Basketball Tournaments and earned the conference's automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament. South Carolina State's men shared the regular-season title with Norfolk State, while the NSU women finished the regular season undefeated in conference play at 14-0. Howard's women's basketball team finished as regular-season runners-up with a 12-2 MEAC record.

Media members wishing to speak with MEAC head coaches or student-athletes during the event should contact Patricia Porter-Mayfield at mayfieldp@themeac.com in advance. A complete list of student-athletes scheduled to attend is provided below.

The 2026 MEAC Men's and Women's Basketball Tournament is scheduled for March 11-14 at the Norfolk Scope Arena in Virginia.
