ORANGEBURG, SC—Four Bulldogs scored double figures with senior forward
Davion Everett leading the way with a game-high 21 points, eight (8) rebounds and four assist to lead South Carolina State to an 78-64 win over UMES in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play Monday (Jan. 13) nigh inside Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
The Bulldogs (9-10 overall, 3-1 MEAC) one of the hottest teams in the league got a solid effort from
Omar Croskey with 14 points and three rebounds, sophomore forward
Drayton Jones contributed to the front court with 12 points and seven rebounds along with Mitchell Teal's 11 points and three steals.
Teammates
Mitchell Taylor added nine points and three rebounds, while
Wilson Dubinsky added five rebounds in the win.
South Carolina State dominated in several categories including points in the paint (40-26), points off turnovers (21-14), second chance points (9-5), fast break points (19-12), bench points (41-13), and rebounds 36-31.
NEXT UP: South Carolina State hits the road to take on North Carolina Central in a pivotal Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference showdown Saturday (Jan. 25) in Durham, NC. Tipoff is set for 4 pm.
