DURHAM, NC—Four Bulldogs scored double figures with sophomore guard
Mitchell Taylor leading the way with a team-high 16 points and five (5) rebounds, but it wasn't enough as South Carolina State fell short on the road in an 77-82 loss to North Carolina Central inside McDougald-McLendon Arena.

Drayton Jones added 13 points, while teammates
Florian Tenebay chipped in a team-high eight (8) rebounds along with 11 points in the loss.
Despite the loss, the Bulldog defense forced a game-high 16 turnovers and led in several categories including points in the paint (40-38), points off turnovers (14-13), second chance points (18-7), and bench points (26-15).
NCCU was led by Po' Boigh King with a game-high 25 points in the win.
NEXT UP: South Carolina State will return to action over the weekend with a pair of MEAC contests at Norfolk State (Feb. 1) and Howard on Feb. 3
rd in Washington, DC.
