ORANGEBURG, SC—South Carolina State women's basketball team snapped a 16-game losing skid Saturday (Jan. 11) posting an 68-62 win over visiting Delaware State inside Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
South Carolina State improved to 2-17 overall, 1-2 MEAC, while Delaware State falls to 3-13 overall, 0-3 in the league.
Three Lady Bulldogs scored in double figures with
Shaunice Reed leading the way with a team-high 21 points, along with
Angie Juste-Jean 15 points and four (4) rebounds in the way.
Heaven Harper recorded the games only double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds on the day.
SCSU dominated in several categories such as points in the paint (28-18), bench points (23-17) and rebounds 33-21.
NEXT UP: South Carolina State resume to Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play in an showdown with UMES on Monday (Jan.13) in the first of an doubleheader beginning at 5:30 pm inside Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
