South Carolina State head track & field/cross country coach Donald Cooper announced an addition to his staff.  

Savionna R. Glover will serve as an assistant for both the men's and women's track & field/cross country program. Her duties will include serving as jumps coach and assisting with sprints and multi events.

Prior to coming to SC State, Glover served as Athletic Administrator/Assistant Track Coach at Savannah State (8/2023-8/2024) where her duties included the preparation and coordination of practices and meets, and assisting student-athletes with mentoring, academics and career coaching.

In her administrative role, she was responsible for special projects such as facilities management, team operations, event management, compliance, athletic student services, ticketing, public relations, and/or project management.

Before her tenure at SSU, Glover served as assistant track & field coach at Bethune-Cookman for a season where she assisted with practices and meet preparation as directed by the head coach. She as assisted with recruiting, academics, team building skills for the student-athletes, travel management along with building positive relationships with Cross Country / Track & Field boosters.

A native of St. Helena Island, SC she is a former track & field athlete at Benedict College, where she earned a B.S. in Sports Management in 2021 and a Masters in Sports Management in 2022.

Glover also holds a USATF Coaching Certification Level 1.

South Carolina State University is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I level intercollegiate athletic program.
