Dexter Ratliff, an All-MEAC performer with the track & field team. During his career he has set school, personal records (PR) and conference marks in the discus throw, as well as the hammer throw. Q: What were some of your personal goals in track and field you feel you have accomplished this season?
A: My main goal for this year was to perform better than last year. And I feel as though I have improved since then.
Q: What would you say was one of the biggest challenges you faced as a part of the team?
A: One of the biggest challenges I had to face on the team was becoming a leader and setting an example for my younger teammates.
Q: What would you tell your younger self at this point?
A: I would tell my younger self to be you and do not let other people prevent you from achieving your dream goal.
Q: What was the best advice given to you throughout your career?
A: The best advice I was given is to keep going, even on bad days.
Q: What are your plans after graduation?
A: Attending graduate school, finishing out my college track and field career and to compete professionally. I also plan to work in the sports performance center for WWE.
Q: When I am not interacting with track & field, I am doing?
A: I am either lifting weights in the weight room, or listening to music in the room
Q: If I wasn't involved in track & field, I would be doing what?
A: If I wasn't involved in track, I would most definitely be playing football.
Q: A hidden talent I have no one knows about is?
A: I know how to mix and make music

A: My Mother

South Carolina State University is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I level intercollegiate athletic program.
