WILMINGTON, N.C. The South Carolina State women's tennis team knocked off UNC-Wilmington 4-1Thursday at the UNCW Tennis Complex.
The Lady Bulldogs improved to 13-4 with the win while the Seahawks tumbled to 9-7.
SC State captured the doubles point early on with 
Sofiya Chursina / 
Semlali Hind [SCST] winning 6-2 at the No.1 spot and 
Nalanda Silva / 
Teodora Vujicic  6-2 respectively at the No. 3 spot.
In singles action, 
Sofiya Chursina [SCST) def.  
Arli, Eda [UNCW] (6-0, 2-6, 7-6) at the No. 1 spot; 
Nalanda Silva [SCST] def. 
Hubbard, Katelyn [UNCW] (6-4, 6-2) at the No. 4 spot and 
Teodora Vujicic [SCST] def. 
Eberwein, Alicia [UNCW] (6-2, 0-6, 6-4) at the No. 5 spot to secure the win.
SCSU secured the top spot in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tennis Championships taking place at the Cary Tennis Park on April 25-27.
UP NEXT: The Lady Bulldogs will close out with regular season on the road at Davidson College at 1 p.m. on April 20.
