CARY, NC—No. 6 seed South Carolina State closed out their season in defeat to No.2 Norfolk State in semifinal action Friday (April. 24) inside the Cary Tennis Center.
South Carolina State finished the season 3-13 overall.
The Norfolk State Spartans established control early, securing the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles positions en route to a 4-1 win over the No. 6 South Carolina State Bulldogs.
The Spartans maintained its momentum in singles action, winning three courts to secure the 4–1 team victory.
South Carolina State recorded a point at No. 1 singles to narrow the margin to 3–1. However, Yana Klimchuk sealed the match at No. 4 singles, defeating Lecoanet 6–4, 6–1 to send the Spartans to the championship round.
