ORANGEBURG, SC- The South Carolina State softball captured a 2-1 series win over Norfolk State over the weekend at the Lady Bulldogs Softball Field.

SC State improved to 4-13, 2-1 meanwhile, Norfolk State dropped to 2-25, 1-2.

GAME 1: Senior
DeAsia Lowther earned the win, only giving up two hits and one run over seven innings and recording 21 outs.
Madison Boyd led the Lady Bulldogs with three hits in four at-bats. SC State's defense didn't commit a single error with a double from
Aaliyah Felder and a single from Boyd allowed SCSU to take the lead in the fourth.

GAME 2: The Spartans defeated the Lady Bulldogs 9-3 to tie the series 1-1 for the day. NSU owned the third inning capitalizing on an error to break the 2-2 tie and stretch the inning with a 5-2 lead. Norfolk State added three more runs in the fifth and one in the sixth to secure the win.
Madison Boyd led SC State batting 3-of- 4,
Cameron Hall went 1-for-4 leading with one run batted in, while
Amarie Gist stole two bases.

GAME 3: Lowther was the big hitter of the series, hitting the only homerun while going three for three at plate. SC State's scoring catapulted in the fourth with two singles and added three more runs in the fifth from three hits.
Aaliyah Williams earned the win surrendering one hit, zero runs, eight strikeouts, and one walk.
