ORANGEBURG, SC—The South Carolina State women's tennis improved to 3-1 on the season after an impressive shutout victory over Tennessee State Saturday (Feb.17) inside the Hardeep Judge Tennis Center.
The Lady Bulldogs (3-1) claimed the doubles point early with wins by Chursina/Hind (7-5) and
Vujicic/Silva (6-2).
On the singles side
, Sofiya Chursina def. Nikollic (6-1, 6-3) at the No. 1 spot; Hind Semilali def. Malulwa (6-3,6-3) at the No. 2 spot;
Rachida Berjane def. Ratiu (6-4,6-2) at the No. 3 spot;
Nalanda Silva def. Howard (6-0,6-0) at the No. 4 spot;
Teodora Vujicic def. Gomez-Weiiis (7-5,6-4) at the No. 5 spot and
Feriel Mahbouli def. Castillo (6-2,6-4) at the No. 6 spot.
UP NEXT: South Carolina State returns to action on Saturday (Feb.24) on the road at Stetson in a non-conference matchup. First serve is 10 a.m.
