ORANGEBURG, SC—Six different Bulldogs scored in double figures, but it wasn't enough as South Carolina State fell short, 88-81, at home to Samford in non-conference play Thursday (Dec. 5) inside Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
South Carolina State falls to 4-6 overall, while Samford improves to 8-2 on the season.
Wilson Dubinsky led the way with a team-high 15 points, connecting 3-of-5 from behind the three-point arch. Senior forward
Davion Everett added 12 points and five rebounds in the loss.
Despite the loss, the Bulldogs led in several categories including points in the paint (36-30), second chance points (13-10), bench points (40-27) and rebounds (31-23).
Colin McKenzie and
Michael Teal each contributed 11 each respectively, while
Drayton Jones and
Caleb McCarty added 10 points each as well on the day.
NEXT UP: South Carolina State will host Charleston Southern on Monday (Dec. 9) in non-conference play inside Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center. Tipoff is 7 pm.
