Sunday's matchup marks the first time that the Bulldogs have played inside Humphrey Coliseum since a victory on November 20th against Mercer. Since then, the Bulldogs have played on the road for four neutral site games and four away games, going a combined 7-1.

Mississippi State will take on South Carolina State for just the second time in program history. Mississippi State walked away with an 85-47 victory on December 20, 2021 in Starkville the first time the two programs met.


LAST TIMEOUT: Mississippi State knocked off MEAC foe Maryland Eastern Shore 70-52, while South Carolina State dropped an 58-104 defeat to intrastate rival Coastal Carolina.

COACHES
MSU: Under head coach Sam Purcell,  State has won 40 of 47 non-conference games, including 19 of its last 21. In non-conference matchups inside of Humphrey Coliseum, the Bulldogs have gone 22-1 under Purcell.
SCSU: Under head coach Tim Eatman, South Carolina State is 6-69 overall under the leadership of Eatman in three seasons, while going 3-25 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC ) play.
