ORANGEBURG, SC – The South Carolina State track and field teams recorded several season-best performances and established one personal record at the recent Georgia Tech Invitational at Atlanta, GA Apr. 21-22.
Recording season-best performances for Coach Donald Cooper's teams were
Jada Banks in the women's 1500 meters (5:09.92);
Andrew Latimer in the men's 1500 meters (4:11.76);
Dexter Ratliff in the discus (147.76, 156-8 ft.),
the third best throw in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference this season; and the women's 4x100m relay team (
Sydney Cooper,
Angelica Frederick,
Cameran Gist and
Maya Smith), with a time of 47.52.
Barrington Walker completed the 400-meter hurdles in a time of 55.50, a personal record and the fifth-best time in the MEAC this season.
The SC State men's 4x100m relay team (
Jalen Alleyne,
Kristopher Brown,
Waddell Rembert-Jett and
Erick Hill) was fourth in the field with a time of 40.74.
SC State will resume its schedule Apr. 28 at the UNF East Coast Relays at Jacksonville, FL.
