ORANGEBURG, SC—The South Carolina State men's and women's basketball teams return home to wrap up the final three-game regular season home stretch, beginning with Norfolk State Saturday (Feb.25
th) in an MEAC Doubleheader inside Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
The women's contest tipoff at 2:00 p.m., followed by the men's start is 4:00 p.m.
Last Time: The Lady Bulldogs (3-23 overall, 2-9 MEAC) look to get things back on the winning track after an 49-50 loss to Delaware State on the road. Meanwhile, the Lady Spartans (21-9 overall, 9-2 MEAC) looks to keep their winning streak alive after knocking off Coppin State 47-36 in their last outing.
On the men's side the Bulldogs (5-22 overall, 2-9 MEAC) is coming off a tough 68-69 defeat to Delaware State on the road. Meanwhile, the Spartans (19-8 overall, 8-3 MEAC) defeated NC Central 77-71 to keep their hopes alive of staying a top of the conference race.
NEXT UP: Both teams close out regular season play when they host Howard on Monday (Feb.27
th) in an MEAC Doubleheader, beginning with the women at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men at 7:30 p.m., before closing things out versus NC Central on Thursday (March., 2
nd) .
2023 MEAC TOURNAMENT: The 2023 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) men's and women's basketball tournament is scheduled for March 8-11, 2023, at the Norfolk Scope Arena in Norfolk, Va. The annual MEAC Basketball Tournament moved to Norfolk in 2013 after spending the previous four years in Winston-Salem, N.C. from 2009 through 2012.
