CHARLESTON, S.C. – The defending MEAC Champion South Carolina State men's tennis team opens regular season play Saturday (Jan.14
th) versus The Citadel in a doubleheader matchup.
The matches will begin at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm.
Scouting South Carolina State
South Carolina State was 12-9 overall and 4-0 in conference play for the 2022 season. The Bulldogs won the MEAC Men's tennis championship last season and advanced to the NCAA Championships. In the most recent matchup, SC State defeated the Bulldogs 0-7.
Returners for The Citadel
The Citadel will have nine returners for the upcoming 2023 spring season, including
Hayden Shoemake, who played in the No. 1 singles spot for the 2022 season, and
Zvonko Bencedic, who played in the No. 2 singles spot.
