CHARLESTON, SC—The South Carolina State Cross Country teams posted a strong showing at the CSU Buccaneer Invite.
Team participated in the CSU Invite were College of Charleston, The Citadel, Newberry, USC-Beaufort, Allen, South Carolina State and host Charleston Southern.
On the women's side, as a team South Carolina State placed fifth (5
th) overall, All-MEAC Performer and MEAC Women's Cross Country Champion junior Jada Banks finished 15
th out of 48 runners.
Teammates junior Debrielle Williams placed 28
th, sophomore Ashanti Meyers 35
th, sophomore Makayla Jones 39
th and Chanice Harris 43
rd out of 48 on the day.
On the men's side as a team the Bulldogs did not qualify.
Individually sophomore Matron Thornton finished 32
nd out of 50 runners, Gamari McCormick 33
rd, junior Jaden Barker 38
th and sophomore Jalon Kimbrough 42
nd on the day.
