WASHINGTON, DC---Bothered by injuries and several veteran starters not playing, South Carolina State suffered yet another setback on the road in a 28-14 loss to Howard Saturday (Nov.12
th) at Greene Stadium.
True freshman Prometheus Franklin II got his first start of the season finishing 6-of-16 for 70-yards and a touchdown, while rushing for eight carries for 44-yards, before leaving with an injury late in the contest.
Redshirt senior Shaquan Davis had three catches for 88-yards, while Jordan Smith finished with three catches for 36-yards and a touchdown.
The defense was spearheaded by linebacker
BJ Davis with game-high 14 tackles (11 solo), 2.5 tackles for loss, while sophomore Aaron Smith added eight tackles (7 solo) , 1 TFL, and 1 sack in the loss.
Next up South Carolina State will close out the 2022 campaign at home versus Norfolk State on "Senior Day" inside Oliver C. Dawson Stadium|Willie Jeffries Field in a 1:30 p.m. start.
