Orangeburg, SC- The South Carolina State women's volleyball team suffered back-to-back road losses in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play over the weekend.
In the first match, the UMES Lady Hawks defeated the Lady Bulldogs 3-0 (18-25, 20-25,7-25) Friday (Oct. 28th) evening at Hytche Athletic Center. Semira Fields led the way with seven kills and eight digs, while Eleishia Thompson contributed six kills and Siela Avea dished out 15 assists on the day.
In the second match, the Lady Hornets of Delaware State knocked off South Carolina State 3-0 (11-25, 15-25, 8-25) in straight sets Sunday (Oct. 30th) afternoon at Memorial Hall. The Lady Bulldogs were led by Siela Avea with 10 assists and Chelsea Cole with eight digs. Meanwhile, McKinley Roach contributed four kills along with Semira Fields, who rallied for three kills in the loss.
The Lady Bulldogs drop to 0-22 overall, 0-11 in the MEAC.
