Box Score ORANGEBURG, SC—The South Carolina State women's soccer team snapped a 13-game losing skid this season under Interim head coach Liz-Amanda Brown in a 1-0 victory over Shaw University Monday (Oct. 3rd) inside Oliver C. Dawson|Willie Jeffries Stadium.

"I'm proud of these ladies and the fight they put and happy to see their performance improve", said Brown. "We came out with a win, and we will be working hard on producing more. "

First-year forward Amari Thomas scored the only goal on the day on a kick from the left side at the 17:22 mark in the second half to secure the victory.

"Whitted had a fantastic game and was able to record the first shut out for the season as well," noted Brown.

Next up South Carolina State will embark on a two-game road trip with stops at Delaware State on Sunday (Oct. 9th) in Dover, DE and Monday (Oct. 10t) versus Howard in Washington, DC.
