NORFOLK, Va., --South Carolina State sophomore Jada Banks
was named Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week presented by Coca-Cola, the conference office announced.
Banks (So., Conyers, Ga.) ran a school-record 18:07.0 – the fastest 5K time in the MEAC this season – this past weekend in the Queen City Invite. She came in 14
th in a field of more than 260 runners.
Others earning honors were Delaware State junior Albert Norman was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week.
Norman (Jr., Georgetown, Del.) ran the fastest 8K time of the weekend, clocking in at 25:57.0 in his first race of the season to win The Shore Invitational this past Saturday. His performance set a modern-day program record and helped the Hornets win the team title.

Amadou Ba (Coppin State) was ninth in The Shore Invitational with a 27:49.10.
Kamillah Monroque (Coppin State) ran a 20:46.80 to finish sixth in The Shore Invitational.
Tai Brown (Delaware State) completed the 5K course in 20:55.90 to finish eighth in The Shore Invitational.
Ayoade Adebiyi (Howard) ran a 26:20.0 to come in third in The Shore Invitational.
Joslyn Crosby (Howard) won The Shore Invitational, completing the 5K course in 19:27.40.
Shawn Smith (Maryland Eastern Shore) came in 15
th in The Shore Invitational after completing the 8K course in 28:37.90.
Dominique Spann (Maryland Eastern Shore) was 12
th in The Shore Invitational, running a 21:26.0 over 5K.
Rachel Field (Morgan State) was fifth in The Shore Invitational with a time of 20:33.90.
Jackson Waller (Morgan State) came in seventh in The Shore Invitational with an 8K time of 27:28.90.
Ashton Drake (North Carolina Central) won the Greensboro Invitational, running a 27:26.86 over 8K in helping the Eagles win the team title.
Victoria Swepson (North Carolina Central) won the Greensboro Invitational, completing the 5K course in 20:13.20.
Trey Felton (South Carolina State) ran a school-record 25:58.0 over 8K at the Queen City Invite.
