ORANGEBURG, SC – The South Carolina State Cross Country teams will open their 2021 campaign Saturday at the Buccaneer Classic, hosted by Charleston Southern, beginning at 9 a.m.

The meet will be one of six on this year's slate for SC State and third-year head coach Jerod Wims.

Junior Jada Banks and sophomore Ashanti Meyers are expected to do well for the SC State women, while Arkansas Pine Bluff transfer Andrew Latimer will lead the men.

Other meets on the 2021 schedule are the Queen City Invitational at Charlotte, NC Sept. 24, the Chanticleer Challenge Oct. 1 at Conway, SC, the USC Upstate Invitational Oct. 16 at Spartanburg, SC, the MEAC Championship Oct. 23 at Norfolk, VA, and the NCAA Div. I Regional Nov. 12 at Lexington, KY.
