NCCU Sweep Lady Bulldogs in Spring Season Opener

ORANGEBURG, S.C. — The South Carolina State volleyball team suffered setbacks in their season-opener last week in a pair of 0-3, 0-3 defeats to NC Central at Dukes Gymnasium.

SC State (0-2) dropped the first match 7-25, 11-25, 14-25. Senior Jess Beanard led the Lady Bulldogs with four kills. In the second matchup the Lady Bulldogs played better but fell short in 13-25, 10-25, 18-25 defeats to NCCU (2-0).

Beanard finished with seven kills and a match-high 12 digs.

South Carolina State returns to action on Thursday (Feb.18th) and Friday (Feb. 19th) on the road versus Norfolk State. For more information on South Carolina State Athletics visit www.scsuathletics.com
