CLEMSON, SC—The South Carolina State men's and women's track & field team had several Bulldogs produce solid outings of competition during the Clemson Opener on Saturday (Dec. 7
th).
HEAD COACH Jerod Wims….
"This weekend was the first time that I was able evaluate our athletes and see what type of competitors they are. Most of the athletes ran lifetime bests and they competed well based on the fall training that we have done so far. Now it's time to turn things up a notch and prepare for a tough Indoor schedule".
TEAM RECAP:
- Junior Keturah Hunter captured first place in the Weight Throw of 18.34m (60-02.00).
- Kameron Dash had a strong showing in the Men's 200 Meter Dash finishing second in his section with a time of 22.35, while junior Daniel Seawright earned himself a second-place finish in the Men's 300 Meter Dash.
- Freshman Dwayne Curnell had a big day finishing first place in Heat 2 of the Men's 60 Meter Dash with a time 6.96 (Q), as well finishing second in his section 5 of the Men's 200 Meter Dash with a time of 22:42.
Next up South Carolina State men and women return to action on Jan. 10
th at the UAB Blazer on the campus of University of Alabama Birmingham.
