ORANGEBURG, SC—The South Carolina State women's tennis team posed their first win of the season in an, 4-2, home-opener victory over UNC-Wilmington Thursday (Jan. 31
st) at the
Hardeep Judge Tennis Center.
The Lady Bulldogs (1-0) captured the doubles point over UNC-W 7-5, 6-4 victories. This was the first time in over an year SC State won the doubles victory over any team.
On the singles side, junior Andjela Mihajilovic from Serbia def. R. Ravindran (6-2, 6-3) at the No. 1 spot; freshman Ikram Rassif from Morocco def. L. Dubious-Rebiere (6-4, 3-6, 6-1) at the No. 2 and Lasya Patnaik from India def. C. Matute at the No. 3 spot 6-2, 6-4.
Next up South Carolina State returns to action on Wednesday, Feb 6
th when they host Radford University in a 2 pm showdown at
Hardeep Judge Tennis Center.
